Editorial policy
Updated
This page describes who writes TopPro10, what separates our material from paid material, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Independence
The desk decides what to write about. No advertiser, agency or partner sees a text before publication, and no payment buys a place in, or a line inside, anything we write.
Paid and syndicated material
This domain has carried paid placements and syndicated contributions for years, on subjects that have nothing to do with household kit. Those pages remain online because removing published addresses damages readers who arrive at them and misrepresents the record of the site. Each of them carries a label at the top of the page saying what it is, and all of them are listed together in the archive. They are excluded from our section fronts and from the home page.
Sources
We link to the document we are describing whenever one exists in public — a standard, a manual, a regulator's guidance, a manufacturer's specification. We do not link to shops, and we earn nothing from any link on this site.
Archive material
Rankings published between 2016 and 2018 are labelled on the page with the year they were first published. We do not re-date old material to make it look current.
Corrections and complaints
Errors are corrected on the page, with a note saying what was changed. If you believe a page misrepresents a product or a person, write to the desk through the contact page.
