About us
Updated
TopPro10 is a small independent desk that writes about the things people keep at home and use without thinking about them: the kettle, the drill, the router in the hallway, the seat in the back of the car. We are interested in one question above all — what is this object actually built to do, and what happens when it stops doing it.
The site has been publishing since 2016. For its first years it ran long product rankings, and several hundred of those are still here. They are useful for the reasoning and useless for the shortlists: the models have changed, the prices have changed, and half the brands have gone. We keep them, label them honestly as archive, and we no longer pretend they are current buying advice.
What we publish now
Our current work is in Guides. It is service journalism rather than shopping: how a mechanism works, what a label on a box legally means, what a machine costs to run for a month, how long a part lasts and what kills it first, and what to check, in order, when something fails.
What we do not do
- We do not sell anything and we run no shop.
- We take no payment for a place in a ranking or for a favourable line in a guide.
- Paid and syndicated placements published on this domain are kept in a separate archive, labelled on the page itself, and never mixed into our own work.
